Synopsis

The urban innovation event will start with an introduction to Citypreneurs, a UN-backed startup competition in Seoul, Korea.  Citypreneurs serves as a platform for startups and young entrepreneurs to pitch their innovations to investors, mentors, policymakers, to join an international community network, and build up next generation entrepreneurial skill. In concludes with a competition and opportunity to work with the city of Seoul and beyond in delivering innovative solutions toward meeting the SDGs at urban scale.


This event will provide participants with a roadmap towards adopting Seoul’s approach in working with Citypreneurs. It allows city practitioners to learn how to create enabling conditions in their cities towards innovative, smart and out of the box problem solving. It focuses on how tech-based solutions can be realized and scaled, and how to harness innovation towards more equitable, productive and sustainable cities. The session will help participants identify themes that can be solved through tech based solid impact-profit business models, how to integrate innovative problem solving in comprehensive city planning and allow for living labs, greater economic impact and creativity within our cities.
