Synopsis

As the first substantive plenary session after the official Opening, the High-level Roundtable (HLRT) substantively sets the scene for the Seventh Asia Pacific Urban Forum. At the HLRT, leaders representing different stakeholder groups will share their visions for sustainable urban development in Asia and the Pacific. These visions will be both personal and linked to the stakeholder groups and locations of key concern for each leader. They will touch upon the four themes of the Future of Asia Pacific Cities Report 2019 - around which the thematic tracks of the Forum are structured (i.e. urban and territorial planning, resilience, smart cities, and financing cities). The visions will also highlight some key pathways to accelerate local progress on global sustainable development agendas. The session will conclude with an opportunity for fellow leaders to reflect on and add to the presented visions in a moderated roundtable discussion
